A program is a prepared algorithm for a computer. As the computer can only follow the rules the programmer has set a program could lead a computer to failures when unexpected situations occur during it's execution. Due to the complexity of computer programs such failures (so called "bugs") are immanent in almost every program. Whenever such previously undetected bug is found most developers update the affected files as soon as possible and offer them as "updates", "bugfixes" or "patches" for download.
